Where is Bin Laden?
For the last few months the second man in Al-Qaeda Ayman Al-Zawahri was the only one who makes statements from Al-Jazeera TV. The latest statement was today in which Al-Zawahri requested that Hammas (the Palestinian faction in power now) to stick to its military agenda for Jihad in the way that Al-Zawahri understood.
The question here is not about Hammas and its agenda but regarding the forgotten man in Al-Qaeda (UBL). Where is he and why for the last few statements it was Zawahri who appears to make statements?
There must be some thing major happened to UBL. Even if he is unwell he may be able to make a short statement. The only reason is either died or he got terminal illness.
There are many other questions about Zawahri himself. Where is he now to be able to send statements from Afghanistan or Pakistan to Al-Jazeera in Qatar? Is Al-Jazeera sharing information about whom and when and where it had the tapes of these statements?
Indeed and until now we can assume, based on the ground facts that the US led war against terrorism has failed so far.
In Iraq there are some news and roamers about imminent major attacks on the same time in the next few weeks or even days. Targets to inflame the situation like religious sites are high on the agenda of the terrorists as well as the use of non-conventional weapons. This may come as part of the terrorists to say that the Baghdad security plan failed.
In this aspect the Iraqi government needs to be so vigilant and takes farther steps forward to abort the terrorist plans. The Iraqi government should tighten the lose ends, bridge the gaps and strengthen the weak points.
The biggest Pilgrimage to Kerbala
Today is the eve of the 40th day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussein more than one thousands years ago.
Until now the numbers of visitors entered the holy city of Kerbala is more than six millions and this will reach 7.5 millions tomorrow. It is the biggest pilgrimages for such an occasion in the history of the city.
For the last three weeks millions of visitors have came from all the directions of Iraq (south, north, east and west) towards Kerbala. All visitors walked for hundred of kilometers. Tomorrow it will be peaked here in Kerbala.
About two hundred have been killed so far among the visitors mainly in a suicidal attack near Hilla. After this attack nearly all the people in Hilla decided to go towards Kerbala as a determination against the terrorists who attacked the pilgrimages.
It has been noticed today that the rest of the Iraqi cities including Baghdad became empty from its own people because most of them are now in Kerbala.
The security forces in Kerbala are on its highest alert supported by enforcements from other provinces and they aborted many attacks.
Live coverage of the pilgrimage can be seen on Al-Forat satellite channel on Hotbird frequency 10949 MHZ 27500 Vertical.
To see a summary about the story of Imam Hussein please see the side bar in this site.
On this time there are some urgent news not yet confirmed though that the successor of Al-Zarqawi Abo-Omar albaghdadi has been captured by the Iraqi forces west of Baghdad near Aboghreb area. More detail will follow.
The terrorist captured was not Baghdadi but another important target according to the Iraqi officials.
What is the results of the investigation about Ammar Hakeem detention?
Few days ago the son of Abdelaziz Alhakeem (Ammar Alhakeem) was detained by the US forces after he return back from a personal visit to Iran.
There were conflicting reports about the causes of his detention after which he emerged as a small dictator who likes to be treated like a national leader and a representative to the religious and patriotic figures. For the last few days he received some delegates from tribal and union groups as well as some officials most of them related to his father’s party. They mobilized some demonstrations especially in their town Najaf. His media conducted propaganda of support especially after his speech in the press conference in which he claimed that the US forces treated him harshly and confiscated his belongings till now.
Even the US embassy submitted an official apology and promised to carry out an investigation about the incident. The reports were conflicting. Some said that his passport was expired and others claimed that his bodyguards behaved in a suspicious way.
We think that if AH passport was not expired with a valid visa to Iran and there were no concerns about him and his guards during their entry then it was of no need to arrest him and then give an apology. However if there were concerns like the one mentioned about his passport is expired, then why an apology have to be given and why not the truth not being told to the public. If his passport is expired or there are some other issues then it is prudent to expose this in a more transparent way and make the law be applicable as it is with the others.
It is good if there is an investigation and hope to hear the outcome about this so soon so as we may know why AH used this incident for his own propaganda.
