The UN resolution 1859 is another failure about Iraq
The Iraqi government told the Iraqi people and the world that it is going to sign the agreement with the USA about the American forces in Iraq because this is going to end the status of Iraq under
Chapter 7 of the UN. Iraq put under chapter 7 after the war in 1991 by which the USA and its allies destroyed the Iraqi infrastructure and killed thousands of Iraqis followed by killing
one million Iraqi children under the
barbaric UN sanction. That war was as a result of American plot to push Saddam Hussein to invade Kuwait as it was part of Iraq before the British forces cut it from Iraq after the WWII and gave it to Al-Sabah family. Britain and then America used the Emirate as an oil pipe open for their use in return of markets and some services to the Emirate. Saddam accepted the challenge and believed the US plot and pushed his army and retook the (province) of Kuwait. America plot was successful and they pushed their forces with other more than 30 countries via the land of (Saudi Arabia) into Iraq and destroyed both Iraq and Kuwait then they rebuilt Kuwait by using the Iraqi and the Kuwaiti money and by milking the oil cow of the Gulf states.
Iraq remained under chapter 7 until now. After 2003 war by George W Bush and Tony Blair of Britain they two lied on the people that Saddam Hussein regime keeps weapons of mass destruction. This is the same issue that GWB the father followed by Bill Clinton used to keep the barbaric sanction which killed one million Iraqi children. It was a lie in both circumstances.
Now and again the USA and UK deceived the Iraqis and this time their allies who came with them after 2003 war and now in power in Iraq. They told them that they will take off Iraq from chapter 7 as soon as the Iraqi US agreement is signed. This agreement was signed however the US didn’t keep its promises and the Iraqi government put in critical situation. The new resolution 1859 instead of clearing Iraq from chapter 7 indeed it did nothing but reinforce exactly the same reading that was used under the previous regime of Saddam Hussein. It says that the UN will review all the resolutions after the second Gulf war until now as far as Iraq implements all of them. This is exactly the same way that the UN used to ask Iraq under Saddam to do it. The new resolution was nothing but to keep Iraq under chapter 7 and to ask it to implement all the other resolutions.
This is clear deception and even the Iraqi government felt embarrassed of what to tell its own people. Some of them said lies and told that Iraq is cleared, yet others said Iraq is of no threat to the peace of the region, and others were more close to the reality and said this will be reviewed.
This is a big blow and failure to the existed Iraqi government and the coalition in the Iraqi authorities now. The Iraqi people will soon discover the big lie and there will be revolutions and uprising against those who deceive the people.
George W Bush between the shoes of the journalist and the US crimes in Iraq
If we would like to do a simple comparison between what the US done in Iraq and the shoes of the Iraqi journalist who hit GWB with them, the shoes will be nothing.
Hitting someone by the shoes in the Middle East is considered to be undignified and outrageous. Although many of us in Iraq didn’t agree with the way that this journalist has done but we all understand why he did it. In fact there is no comparison what so ever between what the US done in Iraq since 1991 by George W Bush the father until now and the incident of the shoes.
This journalist have seen the US troops killing women and children since 1991, children died from the use of Depleted Uranium without treatment because the USA has prevented importing such treatment under the 12 years sanction since 1991 Gulf war. He has seen the USA many times since 1991, destroying the Iraqi infrastructures, hospitals, mosques, houses, schools, universities, historical sites, factories, and so on. After the invasion in 2003 he has seen the American and their allies’ troops humiliating, assaulting and torturing the Iraq civilians in Abo-Ghreeb prison and in Basrah city by British troops. It is in front of his eyes and every Iraqi eyes the US soldiers and the American security companies such as Black Water killing the Iraqis, humiliating them, and behaving with arrogance and superiority. When the Americans pass in their vehicles the road became for them and all the Iraqis have to get the side way in their own country! From 2003 Iraq became the most dangerous place and thousands of its civilians killed or wounded in the daily war. Iraq became the country of death, killing, lack of services, diseases such as cholera, corruption especially in oil, and division. Many and many other consequences since 1991 US wars in Iraq. All these in mind no wonder why the Iraqi journalist hit GWB with his shoes. GWB was wrong to say this is so the journalist wants to bring attention. It is not but it is the response after all these years of misery by the USA in Iraq.
We feel that the journalist could have been asked GWB some questions however that might pass unnoticed and he chose the way that he likes to express his anger against the US wars in this country.
It is not to bring attention and expose self for consequences but it is to do with the USA destruction of Iraq since 1991. This is the mean and the only reason.
George W Bush hit by shoes in an Iraqi conference
George W Bush has been hit by two shoes during a conference in Baghdad after he signed the American-Iraqi agreement of force pulling which should complete by 2011.
Picture 1 showed GWB bowing down after the Al-Baghdadiyah TV satellite channel journalist Montather Al-Zaidi hit him with the first shoe and shouting at him (Son of a Dog) in Arabic (Ibn Al-Kalb). He also shouted when he throw his second shoe saying to GWB; this is from the widows, the orphans and the Iraqi people that GWB killed. The picture 2 showed the same journalist hitting GWB with his second shoe before he was arrested by the Iraqi security.
GWB later told that the size of the shoe was size 10.
