The tragedy of Al-Kadhemyiah bridge in Baghdad
Our deep condolences are to the families of the victims of the tragic event which happened in Baghdad today, where at least 900 people mostly Shiites were killed.
The tragic event happened while thousands of Shiites commemorating the death of Imam Mosa Al-Kadhem. This Imam was killed in Baghdad prison by poison by Haron Rashed the Abbasi Khalief about 1000 years ago. The Imam was known for his peaceful attitude even towards his enemies. Al-Kadhem means the one who can not be irritated or be able to control and suppress his anger no matter how difficult and big the problem is. As for his ancestors Mosa was against tyranny and oppression. He was a man of peace, justice and equality which are not what the rulers want. They therefore requested him to come from Madena in Hijaz (Saudi Arabia now) to Baghdad so as to put him under house arrest and prevent him from meeting his followers. Then they put him in prison in a cell that he knew no night and day in it. He used to ask the guards about the time of the day to be able to do his prayers. He was chained and heavily guarded. One day they put for him a poison and when he died they throw his body over the bridge of Baghdad disguising it like a beggar. However he was a known person for his followers who discovered that the body in actual fact is that of Mosa Al-Kadhem. Haron was shocked to know that the people indeed discovered the plot and buried Mosa in the place which is called Al-Kadhimyiah today.
During the time of the Sunni regimes like Saddam regime the rulers used to prevent the Shiites from commemorating their festivals for the same reasons which caused Haron to kill Imam Mosa Al-Kadhem.
The exact and same reasons of the black and hatred ideology caused the Wahabi terrorists to program today's event. First they were firing rockets over the crowds away from the bridge then they pushed a thug between them over the bridge who shouted 'terrorist, terrorist; there is bomber over the bridge '. The people when heard that run to catch him. The others tried to run away. Whether or not there was a suicidal or not the tool of death reached about 900 people.
The Interim Iraqi government should bear its own responsibility for this and there should be investigation to punish those who were unable to prevent such tragedy.
May God bestow his mercy on the souls of those who were killed and rest them with peace.
Iraq Constitution
It is not an easy task to write a constitution for any country with homogenous culture and the task even harder if the society is various. In Iraq the job is much harder because of the complexity of the Iraqi society and the negative outcomes of the dictator regime policies on the country for the last 30 years.
The most affected people from the carnage of the previously Sunni dominated regimes especially Saddam's regime are the Shiites and the Kurds. The Kurds achieved a lot of freedom and progress during the last 14 years when they had international protection from the control of Saddam's regime. They now would like to strengthen such an independent in the new constitution.
The Shiites, however, stayed after the liberation of Kuwait under the iron fist of Saddam regime. The Shiites exposed during the last few years into mass killing, mass deportations, imprisonments for no cause but being a Shia, and tortures. The tortures include different ways like tongue cutting, hands chopping, body mincing, ears mutilations, eyes plugging, nailing the head with screws and many others. The Shiites therefore would like to see a constitution which prevents in future any other dictator who may control power in the name of the Arabism and Palestine and with the help of the barbaric agents from these to create another state of fear.
From this the Kurds and Shiites agreed on most of the points in the constitution.
The Sunni from whom the terrorists emerged to kill the Iraqis are proving by this that they can do the same things to control power and will not hesitate to repeat the same tortures and killing and ethnic cleansing again. Only few days ago the Sunnis in Diyala (120 KM North East Baghdad) went in the street in support of the previous regime with Saddam's pictures. These are the same people who killed and will not hesitate to kill the Shiites and Kurds again. The Sunnis refused until now to give any concessions about the 3 points that they are hardly moved away from. These are the complete rejection of the proposed federalism, the wealth of the oil and the Shariah law as the main law of the country. The Sunnis therefore want to keep open doors for them to control power by force in the future and they want to keep the oil as it was before in their hands. For this they reject and try to hamper any democratic process in the country.
The solution therefore is to submit the draft of the constitution into voting in the National Assembly and if it is passed to go into voting as soon as possible.
Silent war between Syria and America: who will prevail, the swamp or the power
Tow years elapsed after the fall of the dictator regime and the escape of its leader from the war. The country is still in chaos and the people started to loss hope in the existed system including the promises raised just after the fall of the regime.
Services like the electricity, sanitation, transports and water are not even suitable for the basic requirements of the domestic animals. There are areas which lack any of the commonly needed basic services. The luckiest areas may get electricity for 4 hours per day! The cutting times are not even regular. Electricity may go at any moment. In a country live on a deep-sea of oil reserves the petrol stations are unable to maintain adequate petrol without long queues, which in some instances needed for the drivers to wait an overnight in a queue.
The most dangerous and important issue is the security and terrorism. The people live in an ongoing war zones with a war which is not similar to the other conventional wars. The number of crimes, smuggling, prostitutions, and other corruptions inside the roots of the interim government are growing so fast everywhere with serious impacts on the life of the ordinary people.
A civil war is on standby with an unpredictable button which may go off at any moment. Indeed the civil war against any non-Sunni families exists dreadfully in many areas where the Sunni are the majority there with hundreds of Shia families driven away from their homes. The number of terrorists entering Iraq from Saudi Arabia and Syria are continuing with an average rate of 100 entering from the Syrian border only. The Syrian regime's support for terrorism in Iraq is much more than before. This regime learnt how to mislead the others and it adopted new ways to train, support and equip the terrorists. This regime thinks that in this way they keep the US and its allies busy in the swamp of Iraq and so they can not attack them while inside the swamp. The Iranian regime extended its involvement in the Iraqi internal affairs in many ways including support for the violence. The Saudis represent the main source of the terrorist recruitment, manpower and financial support in Iraq. An example is; there are more than 500 Saudi and Arab terrorists inside a small area of Tel-Aafar alone. Nonetheless, thousands of them exist inside the Sunni triangle in the West and North-West of Iraq.
The terrorists are now planning for awfully dangerous storms of attacks supported by the Syrian and Iranian regimes. One of these plans which are organized both in Syria and Iran is to execute waves of daily car and suicidal attacks. Major cities especially close to the Syrian border including Mosel, Ramadi, Tal-aafar, parts of Diyala, Samara, Latiyfiyah, parts of Baghdad will be under the control of the terrorists. This will create confusion for the Iraqi and multi-national forces especially the plan is for the terrorists to put themselves in between the civilians and take them as hostages if needed. They will attack the major supplies for water and electricity and aiming to produce general uprising against the weakness of the government. The terrorists will use Iraqi Police uniform to execute some important part of the plan. There are some information indicates that the terrorists are now gathering intelligence information and pass it to Syria for the plan to be finalized before its going to be executed in the next few months. However Syria on the other hand may receive heavy strikes from the multinational forces leading to the reverse which is an uprising in Syria against its totalitarian dictator regime. It is clearly now that the war between Syria and the USA is not silent. The pull-out from Gaza strip is not without relation to the whole plan. Sharon is not so stupid to pull-out without rewards on the Syrian side. He knew the Syrian regime file soon will come to an end. This will conclude Hezbollah, the Golan Heights and peace in the Middle East. Syria want to create a swamp in Iraq for the US troops and they think by this way they will abort any involvement or interference in their affairs. However the US lastly understood the message and the challenge and put plans to be executed on Syria in the coming time while the Syrian regime feel that they are OK as far as the Iraqi swamp is becoming more chaotic. There is some Syrian opposition groups are preparing themselves for a quick return to Damascus of course without the need of the US troops to be there!
Another bloody day in Baghdad
Today’s explosions in the centre of Baghdad happened after the relative decrease in the number of attacks during the last week.
It is another bloody day in Baghdad in ones of the busiest places.
Al-Nahtha complex where two of the explosions perpetrated is one of the main public Transport Stations. Buses, coaches and cars used this station to go and come from many cities outside and inside Baghdad. People from different parts of the country are using the service daily to travel to their destination for businesses, trades or for social issues. Small shops, newsagents, hawkers, and other workers are using this complex to get their daily breads. For many of the users of this complex this morning was different. The destination of every passenger or worker in Al-Nahtha Station was not the same destination of their choice. Instead of going to relatives and families they went to death or hospitals. Others who escaped the first attack with some wounds knew not that the death is still waiting for them by another car explosion at the door of Al-Kindi hospital. For the families and the children who said good-bye to their fathers hoping to see them again in the evening with some sweets or breads, they instead went to search for their bodies or their names in the hospitals.
It was another black day full with the blood of the innocent civilians.
Until now there are more than 90 people killed and at least three times this figure wounded. Many of them are children. Full families with their children killed inside the cars waiting to go cities outside Baghdad. One car was full with children. All of them killed.
This time the attack was planned to kill large number of people. The first car went off inside a crowded area in the centre of the station where many passengers and worker gathered in the early morning. About 10 minutes latter and while the people and service/emergency cars rushed into the main door, another car exploded at the door which killed more and produced more chaos. When the ambulances arrived and transferred the wounded into Al-Kindi hospital another detained-car was awaiting for them at the main door of the hospital to kill some of the wounded people brought by the emergency cars.
If any thing one may say about these cockroaches is that when they hit targets like this it means their days are counted. On the other hand their achievement is the hate of every one but the devils like them and the wrath of God which will soon fall on them by the hands of the same people whom they kill. Again and again Syria, and Saudi Arabia feeding such terrorist attacks with money, manpower and support. From these countries it is estimated at least 100 terrorists entered Iraq via Syria and Saudi Arabia each month.
Constitution dead line extended for a week
Constitution dead line extended until 22 August 2005. Extra week achieved by amendment of the rule related to this which is the dead line of 15 August 2005.
This hopefully will avoid a crisis that threatened the whole political process.
Negotiation will continue for another week to put a draft constitution or the National Assembly should dissolve itself if failed to draft the constitution.
The Iraqi government failure
The failure of Talabani-Aljafari-Alhakem coalition is not only in the security issues and preventing the terrorist attacks but in producing successful regional and international healthy relationships.
We know the lack of the control over the borders between Syria and Iraq and between Saudi Arabia and Iraq as well as Iran. Furthermore the problem of the borders between Iraq and Kuwait has been the subject of the last few days. We know that the borders were demarcated after the invasion of Kuwait by Saddam and when he had accepted every thing to enable him to stay in power. The UN was involved in the process and we have to bring to the attention, here, the UN scandals about the oil for food, a part from, the killing of the Iraqi children by the 12 years so hated UN sanction. After the 1991 demarcation many Iraqi farmers and civilians lost their farms, houses and properties without any compensation. In the last few days the Kuwaitis pushed even that arbitrary demarcation farther inside the Iraqi borders in many points which resulted in many other farms, houses and properties confiscated and destroyed by the Kuwaiti bulldozers.
The local aggrieved civilians in Basrah especially the area of Umqasar whereas many properties and farms taken by the Kuwaitis protested against this and hand fought with the transgressors. The Kuwaitis erected a concrete wall which was then partly destroyed by the aggrieved Iraqis. The Iraqi government has done nothing towards this or it should have done more to prevent it from happening. Indeed there are many Wahabi Kuwaitis joined the terrorist suicidal attacks or killed in Iraq who may have came from that border or from Syria.
Alwatan Kuwaiti newspaper, instead of trying to correct and apologize of what happened they sneer at the Iraqi government like Alhakem and Aljafari. The newspaper described the aggrieved civilians as “mobs who find nothing to eat or wear” and scoff at the Iraqis by telling that the “Iraqi mobs protested at the border on the time the Kuwaiti aids distributed in the Iraqi cities”. The newspaper want farther to say that some of the Iraqis want back to square one but this time if they are going to fight us it would happen by the use of a (neighbor country army). However they forget that the Iraqi army is still there not vanished or evaporated and all the Iraqis are well trained militarily. In fact the events of 1990 are now happening in a reverse order which is the Kuwaiti side confiscated Iraqi land and so as the UN should do its obligations towards protecting the Iraqi land from the transgressors as it did in 1990 towards Kuwait.
The Iraqi government failed to protect the right of the Iraqi civilians and instead Aljafari said that it is the right of the Kuwaitis to do their borders! This man may be fooling himself by saying so and he forgotten the right of the Iraqis to defend their land. He is probably, paying back the favor bestowed up on him by the Kuwaitis in the past, which was mentioned by Alwatan newspaper which tried to remind him about their favor on him.
If the Iraqi government is not going to do a lot to solve the internal and external issues the worst will come. It will push many Iraqis to resist and many may join the opposite groups or even the terrorist groups. The weakness towards such problems like the security and the Kuwaiti transgression on our borders will soon leads to a military resistance towards the Iraqi government and the multinational troops especially if these troops are not going to put an end to the Kuwaiti transgression on the Iraqi lands.
